Il match clou della 31esima giornata di Premier League è senza dubbio l’entusiasmante fra Manchester United e Manchester City, due squadre che vivono una situazione di classifica differente. La partita è in programma domenica 6 aprile alle ore 17.30 ad Old Trafford e vede gli ospiti leggermente favoriti nel pronostico.

I Red Devils attraversano una stagione decisamente non all’altezza, nonostante la leggera ripresa delle ultime settimane. Il successo contro i rivali cittadini può rendere meno amaro un campionato decisamente anonimo, anche se per la classifica conta poco. I padroni di casa puntano infatti ormai tutto sull’Europa League.

La formazione guidata dal tecnico portoghese Ruben Amorim è reduce dal ko di misura al City Ground contro il Nottingham Forest, che ha interrotto la striscia positiva di quattro gare ufficiale senza sconfitta (sette se non si considera il ko ai rigori in FA Cup col Fulham).

Lo United, 13esimo in classifica con 37 punti, ha sempre subito gol nelle ultime dodici partite casalinghe.

Il City, arriva invece dalla vittoria per 2-0 a Etihad contro il Leicester nel turno precedente di Premier, che fa il paio con quella in FA Cup sul Bournemouth. Erling Haaland e compagni si sono così messi alle spalle i due passi falsi con Nottingham e Brighton.

Analisi della panchina di Manchester United-Manchester City: la rosa a disposizione

I padroni di casa del Manchester United devono sempre fare i conti con molte assenze. In difesa sono out Johnny Evans, Lisandro Martinez e il terzino Luke Shaw, quest’ultimo alle prese con un problema al polpaccio. A centrocampo manca Kobbie Mainoo mentre in attacco è indisponibile l’ex Atalanta Amad Diallo.

Amorim dovrebbe puntare ancora sul 3-4-2-1 con Yoro, De Ligt e Mazraoui nel terzetto arretrato, con Diego Dalot e l’ex Lecce Patrick Dorgu sulle fasce. In mediana Casemiro e uno tra Eriksen e Ugarte. Sulla trequarti posto assicurato per Alejandro Garnacho e Bruno Fernandes, alle spalle di Joshua Zirkzee che è favorito su Hojlund.

Dall’altra parte nel City c’è un’assenza che pesa più di tutte ed è quella di Erling Haaland, che si è fermato nel match di FA Cup col Bournemouth e starà fuori per diverso tempo.

Al suo posto in attacco ci sarà l’egiziano Omar Marmoush. Le altre assenze sono quelle di Akè, Akanji e Stones, oltre al solito Rodri. In difesa le tante assenze portano Guardiola a scelte obbligate con Gvardiol al fianco di Ruben Dias al centro e con Lewis e O’Reilly sugli esterni. In mediana spazio a Nico e Guardiola, mentre i dubbi sono sulla trequarti. Doku e Savinho sono favoriti su Foden e Grealish, mentre De Bruyne giocherà in zona centrale.
