Un Newcastle in grande crescita, scintillante come nei tempi migliori e reduce dal portentoso successo per 4-1 contro il Manchester United, gioca in Premier League il recupero della ventinovesima giornata contro il Crystal Palace puntando a sfruttare il KO del Nottingham e a insidiarsi al terzo posto, cucendosi così una buona fetta di Champions League 2025/2026. Contro, potrebbe esserci l’avversario ideale, non certo per la sua forza, anzi ampiamente dimostrata più che mai in questa stagione ma per la sostanziale mancanza di obiettivi concreti in campionato: il Palace è infatti dodicesimo ma ha un grande appuntamento già fissato che è quello della semifinale di FA CUP del 26 Aprile contro l'Aston Villa.

Le Eagles, comunque, rimangono avversari temibili e brillanti e ne sa qualcosa il Manchester City, andato sotto 0-2 nell’ultimo turno prima di riuscire poi a ribaltare la partita. I londinesi arriveranno a St James’Park forti del rientro di Nketiah e Guehi, out per squalifica all’Etihad mentre tra i Magpies le assenze attuali non paiono avere troppo peso: centrocampo e attacco funzionano alla grande e, tra i pali, Nick Pope sta guidando una difesa, anch’essa molto performante in entrambe le fasi. 

I pronostici, dunque, sono dalla parte bianconera anche se gli ultimi due scontri diretti (seppur giocati a Londra) hanno visto un pareggio e un successo per il Crystal Palace.
