Il Parc y Scarlets di Llanelli, Galles occidentale, ospita il ritorno del primo preliminare di Conference League tra Haverfordwest e i maltesi del Floriana. Si tratta di due squadre dalla lunga tradizione: sono entrambe state fondate nel XIX secolo, l'Haverfordwest nel 1899 e il Floriana nel 1894. Non hanno però mai ottenuto risultati sportivi di rilievo internazionale. Per l'Haverfordwest questa è la terza stagione in cui disputa i preliminari europei: nella seconda, due anni fa, riuscì con due ottime prestazioni a superare i macedoni dello Shkendija per poi arrendersi al B36 Torshavn. All'andata hanno perso per 2-1 passando in vantaggio e mostrandosi combattivi: il Floriana è riuscito a tirare poco in porta e crediamo vista la scarsa qualità offensiva di cui dispongono che i gallesi puntino prima di tutto sul non subire reti.

Il Floriana si è fermato alle semifinali scudetto dello scorso campionato maltese. Nei preliminari dello scorso anno ha battuto i sammarinesi del Tre Penne per poi venire eliminato dai portoghesi del Vitoria Guimaraes.
